I have loved writing stories ever since I was a child. I participated in the Young Authors conferences in my hometown and state, and I would write and illustrate my own short stories. I found so much joy in sharing my writings with others. While the dream was put on the back burner for years (and YEARS), it always stayed in my mind - I wanted to write a novel. But I had no clue where to start.
Many years later, I joined an online writing community and learned a LOT about the writing process and how to outline a story. I also joined another online group with critique partners and beta readers to read my writings, give me advice, and honestly, they greatly perfected my writing skills. I am so happy I joined these groups and highly recommend joining online writing groups to all authors!
One of these online groups held a novella contest and I decided to participate - that is where "Enchanted Misadventures" was born. I soon realized the story was a lot bigger than what I had thought, and the novella quickly turned into a novel. Ten months later, I signed a contract with a publisher and the rest is history (as they say).
In October 2021, my novel Enchanted Misadventures with Great-Aunt Poppy was published through Sweetwater Books.
I am currently working on new novels and am now represented by Bethany Fulk at Holloway Literary. If you'd like to see a sneak peak of my current writings, head over to my Current WIP Page! (Work In Progress)
Some other facts about me... I have a BA and MA in English. While attending The University of Alabama for my BA, I marched in The Million Dollar Band.
